You can go to wordpress.com right now and sign up for a new website, point your domain there and voila! You have a website up and running. There are a few problems with this. The solution is to either host your site yourself via Godaddy or via a better service like Amazon Web Services (this is self-hosting). I use the latter to guarantee my clients the best performance for their site and every option they could need for administration on their website. Here's a great explanation of the differences.
